David McCloskey “has proved himself a rare combination of experience and talent” (Mick Herron). His latest novel, THE SEVENTH FLOOR, about the hunt for a dangerous mole in the highest ranks of the CIA, is “absolutely everything you could want in a spy novel” (I. S. Berry) and “a John le Carré level game of cat and mouse” (David Baldacci). Shelf Awareness declares it “sensational,” and BookPage raves that it is “remarkably difficult to put down.” THE SEVENTH FLOOR has been chosen as one of the Top Ten Notable Mysteries & Thrillers of the Fall by Publishers Weekly, a Best of 2024 by Barnes & Noble, is one of Apple Books’ Most Anticipated Books of the Fall, and is an Amazon Editors’ Pick. It will be published by Norton on October 1, 2024.
His previous novel, MOSCOW X, has been praised as “pitch perfect” and “sparkling” (Publishers Weekly—starred review), “a real page turner” that “puts the heat back into the Cold War” (Apple Books—Best of the Month), and “pulsating…with convincing characters and gripping tradecraft” (Sunday Times—Books of the Year). David’s first novel, DAMASCUS STATION, was declared “an exhilarating debut” (Publishers Weekly–starred review), “a master class in spy craft” (People), and “a stand-out thriller and essential reading” (Financial Times).
