A BOOK, TOO, CAN BE A STAR (Farrar Straus and Giroux Books for Young Readers) is the picture book biography about beloved author Madeleine L’Engle that School Library Journal, in a starred review, raves will have readers “love learning about her,” and the “artwork is stunning.” Publishers Weekly concurs that readers “will find inspiration to ask big questions of their own.”  Charlotte Jones Voiklis, one of Madeleine L’Engle’s grandchildren, is co-author of A BOOK, TOO, CAN BE A STAR with Jennifer Adams, author of the bestselling BabyLit series. Illustrations are by Adelina Lirius.

Charlotte manages her late grandmother Madeleine L’Engle’s literary business. She lived with her grandmother during college and graduate school, co-hosting dinner parties, helping answer readers’ letters, and earning a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature. Charlotte has worked in academia, nonprofit communications and fundraising, and philanthropy. Together with her sister, Léna Roy, she has also written a Middle Grade biography of Madeleine L’Engle titled Becoming Madeleine (Farrar, Straus and Giroux Books for Young Readers).  It was received with enormous critical praise—hailed as “skillfully crafted” and “fascinating” by School Library Journal, as well as “perceptive” (Publishers Weekly) and “a fine tribute to a legendary writer” (Booklist starred review).
